terms & conditions
How much is delivery & collection?
Venue delivery & collection within 5 miles from our base is free of charge. Further afield will be charged at £1 per mile. We are based near Dulverton, Somerset

Can I collect & return items myself?
Yes, collection & return of hire items can be arranged for some of our smaller items from & back to our store

What is the hire period?
Our standard hire period is 3 days. We aim to deliver hire items to your venue the day before your event, & collection the day after your event. The same timescale applys for hire items collected from our store. This can be negotiable (depending on other bookings), however there will be additional charges. We also reserve the right to charge for any late returned hire items
Is there a minimum hire charge?
Depending on distance, we do have some set minimum hire charges (excluding delivery & collection fees):
Up to 10 miles - £150.00
Between 20 - 30 miles - £200.00
Between 30 - 40 miles - £250.00

There is no minimum hire for collection of hired items
Do you require a deposit?
A non-refundable 40% deposit will be required upon booking to secure hire items for your event date. Hire of items totalling £50.00 or less will require full payment at the time of booking
What is the booking process?
Once the items you wish to hire have been confirmed, we will send you an itemized invoice. The non-refundable 40% deposit is then required to secure hire items for your event date (please note: items are not reserved until the deposit has been received). Payment of the remaining invoice balance is then required no later than 30 days prior to your event date. We accept payment by bank transfer or cash
Do you require a damage deposit?
We do not require a damage deposit. However, in the event of any damage or theft to hire items during the hire period, an invoice will be issued detailing the amount due. Payment of this amount is then due within 7 days from the invoice date
What if I need to change my booking?
Should you request a change to a hire booking (date/time/venue), we will do our best to assist with the rearrangement, however this may not be possible due to other bookings. There may also be additional charges for a change in venue location. Bookings cannot be transferred any time further ahead than 4 months
What if I need to cancel?
If you decide to cancel your booked hire items before 30 days prior to your event date, your deposit will not be refunded. If you cancel less than 30 days prior to your event date, your deposit will not be refunded & the remaining balance due for the cancelled hire items will still be charged
What happens in the event of bad weather?
We accept no responsibility for bad weather, & in the unlikely event of this happening, no refunds will be given
The swing
As beautiful as it is, our handcrafted larch-wood swing is a very heavy, solid prop. Therefore, when delivering & collecting this item, we do require the help of four strong people (or a tractor)! Please take this into consideration upon booking this item
Can I view hire items?
We don't have a showroom, but all of our hire items can be viewed, by prior arrangement, at our store
Can you source items?
We are always looking to add items to our hire collection & portfolio, therefore if there is something you would like that we currently do not offer, please let us know. We will be happy to try & source specific items to hire that may also appeal to others in the future
Is Heather & Hire VAT registered?
No, we are not VAT registered, so there are no hidden costs
Health & safety
We accept no liability of injury arising from the use of our hire items. It is the customers responsibility to ensure children are supervised at all times to avoid the risk of injury. We cannot be held responsible for safety issues which occur from the use of our hire items
Terms of agreement
Whether you book with us verbally, via email, telephone or social media, it is deemed that the customer has read, understood & fully agreed to our terms & conditions outlined here
